Wildwood School is a dynamic, coed, college-preparatory day school in west Los Angeles. The school enrolls approximately 700 students from kindergarten through 12th grade on two campuses and is seeking a Business Manager who will be committed to working with others in maintaining a collaborative, learner-centered, and inclusive school community. The Business Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the business office, including the supervision of business office staff. The Business Manager will join highly functioning administrative teams, working closely with a diverse group of colleagues, students, families, and Board members. This is a rare opportunity for a highly competent, creative, visionary, and strategic finance professional to join an established, vibrant, and engaging learning community. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages all daily activities of the business office including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and general accounting procedures. Responsible for all aspects of the general ledger and sub-ledgers, including the proper reconciliation of accounts. Prepares timely and accurate financial statements. Ensures adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and complies with all Financial Accounting Standard Board (FASB) rules. Coordinates monthly and year end close. Prepares monthly and annual financial statements. Coordinates the annual audit including reviewing and/or preparing schedules for the auditors. Works with tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate filings of all federal, state and local returns. Establishes and implements appropriate controls and policy and procedures for the business office. Supervising the work and performance of all business office personnel, using standard accounting procedures, keeping an accurate continuous record of the cash and financial position of the school, and managing the financial operation of the school so that the institution remains financially stable Providing support to the CFO, head of school, and senior administrative directors and members of relevant Board committees, as needed. Participates in committees as necessary. Performing other duties, as assigned by CFO

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor?s degree in accounting or business administration, and at least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in non-profit accounting in the role of a business manager or controller. Independent school experience is a plus and non-profit experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA, CPA and work experience in Public Accounting. Experience with Blackbaud preferred.
