Victoria East comfortably won the Victoria West Girls Golf tournament earlier this week with a cumulative score of 369.

The Lady Titans were one of three teams to send a complete team to the tee boxes at Colony Creek Country Club. Corpus Christi Ray was second with a 395 total score and Yoakum was third with an overall score of 420.

Tessa Lev shot an 85, which was the lowest score for East. Cassidy Hoad and Lindsey Crabb shot a 92. Claire Vivian shot 99 and Hannah Karasiuk posted a 107.

"I thought we did OK. We have a long way to go before district," said Victoria East golf coach Mike Smith. "Tessa really played well and was consistent. The rest of the girls played well, but had holes where they put up big numbers. That was because they didn't play in a long time. But, I think it was a good beginning."

Victoria West and Calhoun had medalists at the one-day tournament.
